ifthesurroundingareabecomeswell-lit
becausethelightsensordeterminesthatit
isnighttimeifthesurroundingareais
continuouslydarkforseveralminutessuch
asinsidelongtunnels,trafficjamsinside
tunnels,orinindoorparkinglots.
Inthiscase,thelightturnsoffifthelight
switchisturnedtotheOFFposition.
WhentheheadlightswitchisintheAUTO
positionandtheignitionisswitchedto
ACCoroff(LOCK),theheadlights,other
exteriorlightsanddashboardillumination
willturnoff.

ØDonotshadethelightsensorby
adheringastickeroralabelon
thewindshield.Otherwisethelight
sensorwillnotoperatecorrectly.

Thetimingforturningontheheadlights,
otherexteriorlightsanddashboard
illuminationcanbedelayedbyadjusting
thesensitivityofthelightsensor.Consultan
AuthorizedMazdaDealerregardingsensor
adjustment.

ØThelightsensoralsoworksasa
rainsensorfortheauto-wiper
control.Keephandsandscrapers
clearofthewindshieldwhenthe
wiperleverisintheAUTOposition
andtheignitionisswitchedONas
fingerscouldbepinchedorthe
wipersandwiperbladesdamaged
whenthewipersactivate
automatically.Ifyouaregoingto
cleanthewindshield,besurethe
wipersareturnedoffcompletely-
thisisparticularlyimportantwhen
clearingiceandsnow-whenitis
particularlytemptingtoleavethe
enginerunning.

Xenonfusionheadlightbulbsí
Thelow-beambulbsoftheheadlights
havexenonfusionbulbsthatproducea
brightwhitebeamoverawidearea.

Donotreplacethexenonfusionbulbs
yourself:
Replacingthexenonfusionbulbs
yourselfisdangerous.Becausethe
xenonfusionbulbsrequirehigh
voltage,youcouldreceiveanelectric
shockifthebulbsarehandled
