depressedmorequickly,thebrakesapply
morefirmly.
Theshiftpatternofthetransaxleis
conventional,asshown.
Presstheclutchpedalallthewaydown
whileshifting;thenreleaseitslowly.
NOTE
Whenthebrakepedalisdepressed
Asafetyfeaturepreventsaccidental
shiftingfrom5toR(reverse).Theshift
levermustbeputinneutralbeforebeing
shiftedtoR.

willapplymorefirmly.Thisisa
normaleffectofthebrakeassist
operationanddoesnotindicatean
abnormality.

Whenthebrakepedalisdepressed

clickingnoisefromthebrakebooster
maybeheard.Thisisanormaleffect
ofthebrakeassistanddoesnot
indicateanabnormality.
Shiftingdownwhiledrivingonwet,
snowy,orfrozenroads,orwhile
drivingathighspeedscausessudden
enginebraking,whichisdangerous.
Thesuddenchangeintirespeedcould
causethetirestoskid.Thiscouldlead
tolossofvehiclecontrolandan
accident.Donotusesuddenengine
brakingonslipperyroadsurfacesorat
highspeeds.
Thebrakeassistequipmentdoesnot
supersedethefunctionalityofthe
vehicle'smainbrakingsystem.
