RemovingtheCoolingSystemCap:
Removingthecoolingsystemcap
whiletheengineisrunningorhotis
dangerous.Thismightleadtocooling
systemandenginedamageandcould
resultinseriousinjuryfromescaping
hotcoolantorsteam.Turnoffthe
engineandwaituntilit'scool.Even
then,beverycarefulwhenremoving
thecap.
Useonlysoft(demineralized)water

inthecoolantmixture.Waterthat
containsmineralswillcutdownon
thecoolant'seffectiveness.
Don'taddonlywater.Alwaysadda
propercoolantmixture.

Theenginehasaluminumpartsand

mustbeprotectedbyanethylene-
glycol-basedcoolanttoprevent
corrosionandfreezing.
Wrapathickclotharoundthecapand
slowlyturnitcounterclockwiseabout
twoandahalfrotations.
Stepbackwhilethepressureescapes.
Whenyou'resureallthepressurehas
escaped,turnthecap
DONOTUSEalcoholormethanol

antifreeze.DONOTMIXalcoholor
methanolwiththecoolant.This
coulddamagethecoolingsystem.
