Ifthesystemistriggeredagain,thelights
andhornwillactivateuntiladoororthe
trunklidisunlockedwiththekeyorwith
thetransmitter.
Theft-DeterrentSystemí
Theoptionaltheft-deterrentsystemis
designedtopreventyourvehicleorits
contentsfrombeingstolenwhenallthe
doors,hood,andtrunklid/liftgateare
locked.
qHowtoArmtheSystem
1.
Removethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
Ifforcibleentryisattempted,thesystem
soundsthehornandflashesthehazard
warninglights.
2. Closethehood.Thencloseandlockall
doorsandthetrunklid/liftgatefromthe
outsideusingthekey.Ifyouhavethe
keylessentrysystem,pressthelock
buttononthetransmitter.Thehazard
warninglightswillflashonceto
NOTE
Thetheft-deterrentsystemoperates
l
withthekeyorthekeylessentry
systemtransmitter.
indicatethatthesystemisarmed.
Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandthetrunklid/
liftgate.Presstheareaonthedoor-lock
switchmarked“LOCK”once.Closeall
doors.
Thesystemwillnotfunctionunless
itisproperlyarmed.Toproperly
securethevehicle,alwaysmakesure
allthewindowsarecompletely
closedandalldoorsandthetrunk
lid/liftgatearelockedbeforeleaving
thevehicle.Remembertotakeyour
keyandtransmitter.

NOTE
Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-
lockknobwillnotarmthesystem.

Systemtriggeringconditions
qToTurnoffanArmedSystem
Thehornsoundsintermittentlyandthe
hazardwarninglightsflashforabout3
minuteswhenthesystemistriggeredby
anyoneofthefollowing:
Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoororthetrunklidwiththe
l
key.
Forcingopenadoor,thehoodorthe
l
trunklid/liftgate.
Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
l
entrysystemtransmitter.
Openingadoor,thehoodorthetrunk
l
lidbyoperatinganinsidedoor-lock
knob,thehoodreleasehandleorthe
trunklidreleaselever.
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch
andturnittotheONposition.
