Donotputrear-facingchild-restraint
systemsonthefrontpassenger'sseat.
Thisseatisalsonotsetupfortethered
child-restraintsystems,puttheminoneof
therearseatpositionssetupwithtether
anchors.
FrontPassenger'sSeatPosition:
Asyourvehiclehasfrontairbagsand
doublysoifyourvehiclehassideair
bags,afront-facingchild-restraint
systemshouldbeputonthefrontseat
onlywhenitisunavoidable.
Evenifthefrontpassengerairbag
deactivationindicatorlight
illuminates,alwaysmovetheseatas
farbackaspossible,becausetheforce
ofadeployingairbagcouldcause
seriousinjuryordeathtothechild.
LikewisetheLATCHchild-restraint
systemcannotbesecuredinthefront
passenger'sseatandshouldbeusedinthe
rearseat.
Rear-FacingChild-RestraintSystem:
Thechild-restraintsystemcanbehit
byadeployingairbagandmoved
violentlybackwardresultinginserious
injuryordeathtothechild.Even
thoughyoumayfeelassuredthatthe
frontpassengerairbagwillnotdeploy
basedonthefactthatthefront
passengerairbagdeactivation
indicatorlightilluminates,NEVER
usearear-facingchild-restraint
systeminthefrontseatwithanairbag
thatcoulddeployeveninamoderate
collision.
Don'tallowanyonetosleepagainstthe
rightfrontorreardoorsifyouhavean
optionalsideandcurtainairbag,itcould
causeseriousinjuriestoanoutofposition
occupant.Aschildrenmoreoftensleepin
cars,itisbettertoputthemintherear
seat.Ifinstallingthechild-restraintsystem
onthefrontseatisunavoidable,follow
theseinstructionswhenusingafront-
facingchild-restraintsysteminthefront
passenger'sseat.
