sensorwillnotoperatecorrectly.
Ifthewindshieldiscoatedwith
waterrepellent,therainsensormay
notbeabletosensetheamountof
rainfallcorrectlyandauto-wiper
controlmaynotoperateproperly.
Rain sensor
Ifdirtorforeignmatter(e.g.iceor
mattercontainingsaltwater)adheres
tothewindshieldabovetherain
sensororifthewindshieldisiced,it
couldcausethewiperstomove
automatically.However,ifthewipers
cannotremovethisice,dirtor
foreignmatter,theauto-wiper
controlwillstopoperation.Inthis
case,pullthewiperlevertothe1or
2positionformanualoperation,or
removetheice,dirtorforeignmatter
byhandtorestoretheauto-wiper
operation.
Whenthewiperleverisinthe

AUTOpositionandtheignition
switchisintheONposition,the
wipersmaymoveautomaticallyin
thefollowingcases:
Ifthewindshieldabovetherain
l
sensoristouched.
Ifthewindshieldabovetherain
l
sensoriswipedwithacloth.
Ifthewindshieldisgivenashock.
One-touchwipers
l
Iftherainsensorisgivenashock
frominsidethevehicle.
l
Forasinglewipingcycle,pushthelever
uptoMIST.
Becarefulnottopinchhandsor
fingersasitmaycauseinjury,or
damagethewipers.Whenwashing
orservicingyourMazda,makesure
thewiperleverisintheOFF
position.
