keyremoval.Thispositionalsoshuts
theengineandallelectrical
accessoriesoffwithoutlockingthe
steeringwheel.Tolockthesteering
wheel,removethekeythenturnthe
steeringwheel.
2.
ACC,allowstheelectricalaccessoriessuchastheradiotooperate
whiletheengineisnotrunning.Thispositionalsounlocksthesteering
wheel.
3.
RUN,allelectricalcircuitsoperational.Warninglightsilluminated.Key
positionwhendriving.
4.
START,crankstheengine.Releasethekeyassoonastheengine
starts.
Starting your vehicle
Enginestartingiscontrolledbythepowertraincontrolsystem.This
systemmeetsallCanadianInterference-CausingEquipmentstandard
requirementsregulatingtheimpulseelectricalfieldstrengthofradio
noise.
Whenstartingafuel-injectedengine,don’tpresstheacceleratorbefore
orduringstarting.Onlyusetheacceleratorwhenyouhavedifficulty

Toavoidpotentialtransmissiondamageatextremelycoldtemperatures
(below-20°F[-30°C]),itisrecommendedthatthevehiclebewarmedup
tonormaloperatingtemperaturebeforedrivingathighwayspeedsabove
50
mph(80km/h).Normaloperatingtemperatureisnormallyreached
after10minutesofmoderatedrivingoridling.
Extendedidlingathighenginespeedscanproduceveryhigh
temperaturesintheengineandexhaustsystem,creatingtherisk
offireorotherdamage.
