Usethefollowingguidelinestoavoidelectrostaticchargebuild-upwhen
fillinganungroundedfuelcontainer:

Placeapprovedfuelcontainerontheground.
DONOTfillafuelcontainerwhileitisinthevehicle(includingthe
cargoarea).

Keepthefuelpumpnozzleincontactwiththefuelcontainerwhile
filling.
DONOTuseadevicethatwouldholdthefuelpumphandleinthefill
position.

Yourfueltankfillercaphasanindexeddesignwitha1/4turnon/off
feature.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:

Turntheengineoff.
2.Carefullyturnthefillercapcounterclockwise1/4ofaturnuntilit
stops.

Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.
Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.
Turnthefillercapclockwise1/4ofaturnuntilitclicksatleastonce.
Ifthe indicatorcomesonandstaysonafteryoustarttheengine,the

fuelfillercapmaynotbeproperlyinstalled.Turnofftheengine,remove
thefuelfillercap,alignthecapproperlyandreinstallit.
