JUMPSTARTING—GASOLINEENGINES
4. Connect one end of a jumper cable to the positive
terminalofthedischargedbattery.Connecttheotherend
ofthesamecabletothepositiveterminalofthebooster
battery.
NOTE: Checkthechargeindicatoronthebattery.Ifthe
indicatorislightoryellow,replacethebattery.

Connecttheothercable,firsttothenegativeterminal
oftheboosterbatteryandthenconnecttheotherendto

contactontheengine.

When boost is provided by a battery in another
vehicle,parkthatvehiclewithinboostercablereachbut
withoutlettingthevehiclestouch.Settheparkingbrake,
placetheautomatictransmissioninP(Park),ormanual
transmissioninN(Neutral),andturntheignitiontoOFF
forbothvehicles.
