The front airbags are certified to the Federal
regulationsthatallowlessforcefuldeployment.
Thefrontairbagshaveamultistageinflatordesign.This
mayallowtheairbagtohavedifferentratesofinflation
that are based on collision severity and occupant size.
Also,thefrontpassengerairbagiscertifiedtotheFederal
regulationsthatdefineOccupantClassification(Referto
“OccupantClassificationSystem”inthissection).
Thisvehiclemayalsobeequippedwithwindowbagsto
protectthedriver,front,andrearpassengerssittingnext
to a window. If the vehicle is equipped with window
bags, they are located above the side windows. Their
coversarealsolabeledSRSAIRBAG.
