Diesel Pre-heat Indicator
Light (Diesel Engine)
The indicator light illuminates amber
when the ignition switch is placed at
the "ON" position. The engine can be
startedafterthepre-heatindicatorlight
goes off. The illuminating time varies
with the water temperature, air tem-
perature and battery condition.
The warning chime sounds when the
tail lights are on and the driver side
door is open. This prevents the battery
fromdischargingbywarningyouwhen
the car is left with the tail lights on. The
chime sounds until the tail lights are
turned off.
The front disc brake pads have wear
indicators that should make a high-
pitched squealing or scraping noise
whennewpadsareneeded.Thesound
may come and go or be heard all the
time when the vehicle is moving. It
may also be heard when the brake
pedal is pushed down firmly. Exces-
siverotordamagewillresultiftheworn
pads are not replaced. See your
Hyundai dealer immediately.
NOTE:
If the engine were not started 10
secondsafterthepreheatingiscom-
pleted, turn the ignition key once
more to the "LOCK" position, and
then to the "ON" position, in order
to preheat again.

PARKING START WARNING
SOUND (If installed)
Ifthevehicleisdrivenat10km/h(6mph)
for more than 2~3 seconds, the warn-
ingchimewillsoundcontinuouslywhen
the parking brake engaged.

REAR FOG AUDIBLE WARNING
SOUND (If Installed)
The rear fog audible warning chime
sounds when the rear fog lights are on
and the door in driver side is open.
