ForvehiclesequippedwithEVIC,thepowerwindow
switches,radio,hands–freesystem(ifequipped),and
poweroutletswillremainactiveforupto10minutes
after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK posi-
tion.Openingeitherdoorwillcancelthisfeature.The
timeforthisfeatureisprogrammable.Fordetails,refer
to “Key-Off Power Delay,” under “Personal Settings
(Customer Programmable Features)” under “Elec-
tronicVehicleInformationCenter(EVIC)”inSection4
ofthismanual.
CAUTION!
An unlocked car is an invitation to thieves. Always
remove key from the ignition and lock all doors
whenleavingthevehicleunattended.
Key-In-IgnitionReminder
Openingthedriver’sdoorwhenthekeyisintheignition,
soundsasignaltoremindyoutoremovethekey.

The Key-In-Ignition reminder only sounds when the
ignitionkeyisplacedintheLOCKorACCposition.
NEVER leave children alone in a vehicle. Leaving
unattended children in a vehicle is dangerous for a
number of reasons. A child or others could be seri-
ouslyorfatallyinjured.Don’tleavethekeysinthe
ignition. A child could operate power windows,
othercontrols,ormovethevehicle.

With either front door open, and the key in the
ignition,boththepowerdoorlocksandRemoteKey-
lessEntry(RKE)willnotfunction.
