Ifyoudohaveacollision,whichdeploystheairbags,any
orallofthefollowingmayoccur:
irritation,movetofreshair.Iftheirritationcontinues,
see your doctor. If these particles settle on your
clothing, follow the garment manufacturer’s instruc-

tionsforcleaning.

Thenylonairbagmaterialmaysometimescauseabra-
sions and/or skin reddening to the driver and front
passenger as the airbags deploy and unfold. The
abrasions are similar to friction rope burns or those
you might get sliding along a carpet or gymnasium
floor.Theyarenotcausedbycontactwithchemicals.
They are not permanent and normally heal quickly.
However,ifyouhaven’thealedsignificantlywithina
fewdays,orifyouhaveanyblistering,seeyourdoctor
immediately.
• airbagsIt is nothaveadvisabledeployed.to Ifdriveyouareyourinvolvedvehicleinafteranotherthe
collision,theairbagswillnotbeinplacetoprotectyou.
WARNING!
Deployedairbagsandseatbeltpretensionerscannot
protect you in another collision. Have the airbags,
seatbeltpretensioners,andthefrontpassengerseat
belt retractor assembly replaced by an authorized
dealerassoonaspossible.Also,havetheOccupant
RestraintControllerSystemservicedaswell.

Astheairbagsdeflate,youmayseesomesmoke-like
particles.Theparticlesareanormalby-productofthe
processthatgeneratesthenontoxicgasusedforairbag
inflation.Theseairborneparticlesmayirritatetheskin,
eyes,nose,orthroat.Ifyouhaveskinoreyeirritation,
rinse the area with cool water. For nose or throat
