THINGSTOKNOWBEFORESTARTINGYOURVEHICLE
Childrenthatarenotbigenoughtowearthevehicleseat
beltproperly(seeSectiononChildRestraints)shouldbe
secured in the rear seat in child restraints or belt-
positioningboosterseats.Olderchildrenwhodonotuse
child restraints or belt-positioning booster seats should
ride properly buckled up in the rear seat. Never allow
childrentoslidetheshoulderbeltbehindthemorunder
theirarm.
3. The driver and front passenger seats should be
movedbackasfaraspracticaltoallowthefrontairbags
roomtoinflate.

IfyourvehiclehassideThoraxairbags,donotlean
against the door as airbags will inflate forcefully into
thespacebetweenyouandthedoor.

modified to accommodate a disabled person, contact

Ifachildfromoneto12yearsoldmustrideinthefront
passengerseatbecausethevehicleiscrowded,movethe
seat as far back as possible, and use the proper child
