is open. After all the doors are locked and closed, the
VehicleSecurityLight(locatedintheinstrumentcluster)
willflashrapidlyforabout16secondstosignalthatthe
VehicleSecurityAlarmisarming.Duringthis16second
arming period, opening any door or the liftgate will
cancelthearming.IftheVehicleSecurityAlarmsuccess-
fully arms, the Vehicle Security Light will flash at a
slowerratetoindicatethealarmisset.
VehiclesNotEquippedwithKeylessGo™
To disarm the Vehicle SecurityAlarm, you will need to
press the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter or
turntheignitionkeytotheONposition.Ifsomethinghas
triggeredtheVehicleSecurityAlarminyourabsence,the
hornwillsoundthreetimeswhenyouunlockthedoors.
Checkthevehiclefortampering.

The Vehicle SecurityAlarm is designed to protect your
vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the
Vehicle Security Alarm will arm unexpectedly. If you
remain in the vehicle and lock the doors with the RKE
transmitter, once the Vehicle Security Alarm is armed
(after16seconds),whenyoupullthedoorhandletoexit,
thealarmwillsound.Ifthisoccurs,presstheUNLOCK
button on the RKE transmitter to disarm the Vehicle
VehiclesEquippedwithKeylessGo™
PresstheKeylessGo™Start/StopbuttonuntiltheElec-
tronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) indicates that
the vehicle ignition is “OFF” (refer to “Starting Proce-
dures”in“StartingAndOperating”forfurtherinforma-
tion). Then either press the power door LOCK switch
whilethedriverorpassengerdoorisopen,pressthelock
buttononthefrontdriverorpassengerdoorhandlewith
a valid key fob in range, or press the Remote Keyless
Entry(RKE)transmitterLOCKbutton.
