This feature allows an iPod to be plugged into the ConnectingTheiPodா
vehicle’ssoundsystemthrougha16–pinconnector,using UsetheprovidedconnectioncabletoconnectaniPodto
theprovidedinterfacecable.

the glove compartment on some vehicles). Once the
iPodisconnectedandsynchronizedtothevehicle’sUCI
system (iPod may take a few seconds to connect), the
iPod starts charging and is ready for use by pressing
radioswitches,asdescribedbelow.
UCI supports Mini, 4G, Photo, Nano, 5G iPod and
iPhonedevices.SomeiPodsoftwareversionsmaynot
fully support the UCI features. Please visit Apple’s

port does not play the media. For playing an iPod,
use the separate 16–pin connector port (in the glove
compartmentonsomevehicles).

protectioncapfromthe16–pinconnectorport,priorto
connectingthecable.

If the iPod battery is completely discharged, it may
not communicate with the UCI system until a mini-
mumchargeisattained.LeavingtheiPodconnected
totheUCIsystemmaychargeittotherequiredlevel.

Connecting an iPod to theAUX port located in the
radiofaceplate,playsmedia,butdoesnotusetheUCI
featuretocontroltheconnecteddevice.
