This feature allows an iPod௡ to be plugged into the ConnectingTheiPodா
vehicle’ssoundsystemthrougha16–pinconnector,using    UsetheprovidedconnectioncabletoconnectaniPod௡to
theprovidedinterfacecable.

the glove compartment on some vehicles). Once the
iPod௡isconnectedandsynchronizedtothevehicle’sUCI
system (iPod௡ may take a few seconds to connect), the
iPod௡ starts charging and is ready for use by pressing
radioswitches,asdescribedbelow.
UCI supports Mini, 4G, Photo, Nano, 5G iPod௡ and
iPhone௡devices.SomeiPod௡softwareversionsmaynot
fully support the UCI features. Please visit  Apple’s
websiteforsoftwareupdates.

IftheradiohasaUSBport,connectinganiPod௡tothis
port does not play the media. For playing an iPod௡,
use the separate 16–pin connector port (in the glove
compartmentonsomevehicles).

It may be necessary to remove the connector pin
protectioncapfromthe16–pinconnectorport,priorto
connectingthecable.

If the iPod௡ battery is completely discharged, it may
not communicate with the UCI system until a mini-
mumchargeisattained.LeavingtheiPod௡connected
totheUCIsystemmaychargeittotherequiredlevel.
•
Connecting an iPod௡ to theAUX port located in the
radiofaceplate,playsmedia,butdoesnotusetheUCI
featuretocontroltheconnecteddevice.
