Whilethesystemisdesignedto
helpreduceseriousinjuries,itmay
alsocauseminorburns,abrasions,
swellingortemporaryhearingloss.
Becauseairbagsmustinflate
rapidlyandwithconsiderableforce,
thereistheriskofdeathorserious
injuriessuchasfractures,facialand
eyeinjuriesorinternalinjuries,
particularlytooccupantswhoare
notproperlyrestrainedorare
otherwiseoutofpositionatthe
timeofairbagdeployment.Thus,it
isextremelyimportantthat
occupantsbeproperlyrestrainedas
farawayfromtheairbagmoduleas
possiblewhilemaintainingvehicle
control.
Severalairbagsystem
componentsgethotafter
inflation.Donottouchthemafter
inflation.
Iftheairbagisinflated,the
airbagwillnotfunction
againandmustbereplaced
immediately.Iftheairbagisnot
replaced,theunrepairedareawill
increasetheriskofinjuryina
collision.
