Iftheenginereachesapreset
overĆtemperaturecondition,the
enginewillautomaticallyswitchto
alternatingcylinderoperation.
Eachdisabledcylinderactsasan
airpumpandcoolstheengine.
Whenthisoccursthevehiclewill
stilloperate,however:

theenginepowerwillbelimited.
theairconditioningsystemwill
bedisabled.

theCheckenginewarninglight
alsoilluminates.
Continuedoperationwillincrease
theenginetemperatureandthe
enginewillcompletelyshutdown,
causingsteeringandbrakingeffort
toincrease.
Oncetheenginetemperaturecools,
theenginecanbereĆstarted.Take
yourvehicletoaservicefacilityas
soonaspossibletominimizeengine
damage.
