comesonandstaysonwhenyou
starttheengine,thefuelfillercap
maynotbeproperlyinstalled.Turn
offtheengine,removethefuelfiller
capandreinstallitbeingcarefulto
alignthecapproperly.
Yourvehiclemaybeequippedwith
alockingfuelfillercap.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:
1.
Turntheengineoff.
2. Openthefuelfillerflap.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuel
fillercap,replaceitwitha
genuineFordorMotorcraft
part.Theemissionsystem
performancemaybeadversely
affectedandthecustomer
warrantymaybevoidforany
damagetothefueltankorfuel
systemifagenuineFordor
Motorcraftfuelfillercapisnot
used.
3. Unlockthefuelfillercap,using
thekeyandturncap
counterclockwisetoremove.
4. Toclose,turnthecapclockwise
untilitclicks.

fillercapforadditional
information.
Thefuelsystemmaybe
underpressure.Ifthefuel
fillercapisventingvapororifyou
hearahissingsound,waituntilit
stopsbeforecompletelyremoving
thefuelfillercap.Otherwisefuel
maysprayoutandinjureyouor
others.
Ifyoudonotusetheproper
fuelcap,thepressureinthe
fueltankcandamagethefuel
systemorcauseittowork
improperlyinacollision.
