If requ ired for certain off-road uses, the side bars can be
rem oved and the wind shield folded down. However, the
protection afford ed by these featu res is then lost. If you
rem ove the side bars and fold down the wind shield ,
drive slow ly and cautiou sly. It is recom mend ed that the
speed of the vehicle be limited to 10 mph (16 km/ h), with
low range operation preferred , if you are driving off-road
with the wind shield folded down.
Outsid e rear view mirrors are mounted on the doors. If
you choose to rem ove the doors, see you r authorized
dealer for a rep lacem ent cowl-mounted outsid e mirror.
Federal law requ ires outsid e mirrors on vehicles for
on-road use.

NOTE: If the doors are rem oved , the courtesy lights will
rem ain on. To turn these lights off, rem ove fuse #4 in the
fuse panel. Refer to “Fuse Panel” in Section 7 of this
manu al.
Raise the wind shield and reinstall the side bars as soon as
the task that requ ired their rem oval is completed and
before you retu rn to on-road driving. Both you and you r
passenger shou ld wear seat belts at all times, on-road and
off-road , regard less of whether the wind shield is raised
or folded down.
