MANUAL TRANSAXLE OPERATION (IF  EQUIPPED)
Using the clutch
Vehiclesequippedwithamanualtransaxlehaveastarterinterrupt
interlockthatpreventscrankingoftheengineunlesstheclutchpedalis
depressed.
Whenstartingavehiclewithamanualtransaxle,youmust:

Putthegearshiftleverinthe
neutralposition.

Holddownthebrakepedal.
Depresstheclutchpedaltothe
floor.

Withoutdepressingthe
acceleratorpedal,turnthe
ignitiontoposition4(START),
releasetheignitionassoonas
theenginestarts.
5.
6.
Lettheengineidleforafew
seconds.
Releasethebrakepedal,then
slowlyreleasetheclutchpedal
whilepressingdownslowlyon
theacceleratorpedal.
Donotdrivewithyourfootrestingontheclutchpedalanddo
notusetheclutchpedaltoholdyourvehicleatastandstillwhile
waitingonahill.Theseactionswillseriouslyreduceclutchlife.
