techniciantoverifythattheautomaticlockingretractorfeature
forchildseatsisstillfunctioningproperly.Inaddition,allseat
beltsshouldbecheckedforproperfunction.
WARNING: BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUSTBE
REPLACEDiftheseatbeltassembly“automaticlocking
retractor”featureoranyotherseatbeltfunctionisnot
operatingproperlywhencheckedaccordingtotheproceduresin
WorkshopManual.FailuretoreplacetheBeltandRetractor
assemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryincollisions.
Safety belt height adjustment
Yourvehiclehassafetybeltheight
adjustmentsatthefrontoutboard
seatingpositions.Adjusttheheight
oftheshoulderbeltsothebeltrests
acrossthemiddleofyourshoulder.
Toadjusttheshoulderbeltheight,
squeezeandholdthebuttonsonthe
sideandslidetheheightadjusterup
ordown.Releasethebuttonsand
pulldownontheheightadjusterto
makesureitislockedinplace.
WARNING: Positionthesafetybeltheightadjusterssothatthe
beltrestsacrossthemiddleofyourshoulder.Failuretoadjust
thesafetybeltproperlycouldreducetheeffectivenessofthe
safetybeltandincreasetheriskofinjuryinacollision.
Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionerremovessomeslackfromthesafetybelt
systematthestartofacrash.Thesafetybeltpretensionerusesthe
samecrashsensorsystemasthefrontairbagsandside-curtainairbags
(ifequipped).Whenthesafetybeltpretensionerdeploys,thelapand
shoulderbeltaretightened.
