Whenthebatteryisdisconnectedoranewbatteryinstalled,the
transmissionmustrelearnitsadaptivestrategy.Asaresultofthis,the
transmissionmayshiftfirmly.Thisoperationisconsiderednormaland
willnotaffectfunctionordurabilityofthetransmission.Overtimethe
adaptivelearningprocesswillfullyupdatetransmissionoperationtoits
optimumshiftfeel.
Ifthebatteryhasbeendisconnectedoranewbatteryhasbeeninstalled,
theclockandthepresetradiostationsmustberesetoncethebatteryis
reconnected.

ENGINE COOLANT
Checking engine coolant
Theconcentrationandlevelofenginecoolantshouldbecheckedatthe
mileageintervalslistedintheServiceMaintenanceSection .The
coolantconcentrationshouldbemaintainedat50/50coolantandwater,
whichequatestoafreezepointof-34°F(-36°C).Coolantconcentration
testingispossiblewithahydrometerorantifreezetester(suchasthe
RotundaBatteryandAntifreezeTester,014–R1060).Thelevelofcoolant
shouldbemaintainedatthe“FULLCOLD”levelorwithinthe“COLD
FILLRANGE”inthecoolantreservoir.Ifthelevelfallsbelow,add
coolantpertheinstructionsintheAddingenginecoolantsection.
Yourvehiclewasfactory-filledwitha50/50enginecoolantandwater
concentration.Iftheconcentrationofcoolantfallsbelow40%orabove
