Seating and Safety Restraints
Whentheside-curtainairbags(ifequipped)and/orthefrontairbagsare
activated,thesafetybeltpretensionersforthedriverandrightfront
passengerseatingpositionswillbeactivatedwhentherespectiveseatbelt
isproperlybuckled.
WARNING: Thedriverandtherightfrontpassengerseatbelt
system(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)
mustbereplacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthat
resultsindeploymentoffrontairbagsorside-curtainairbags
(ifequipped)andsafetybeltpretensioners.
WARNING: Failuretoreplacebothfrontrestraintsunderthe
aboveconditionscouldresultinseverepersonalinjuriesinthe
eventofacollision.Theseatbeltpretensionerswillonly
functiononce.Aftertheyaredeployed,theywillnotworkagain
andmustbereplacedimmediately,eveniftherewasnofront
seatoccupantseatedatthetime.
WARNING: Modifyingthecomponentsorwiringofthe
pretensionersystem,includingtheuseofelectronictesting
devicesisdangerous.Youcouldaccidentallyactivateitormake
itinoperablewhichwouldpreventitfromactivatinginan
accident.Frontoccupantscouldbeseriouslyinjured.Never
modifythecomponentsorwiring,oruseelectronictesting
devicesonthepretensionersystem.
WARNING: Improperdisposalofthepretensionersystemora
vehiclewithnon-deactivatedpretensionersisdangerous.Unless
allsafetyproceduresarefollowed,injurycouldresult.Askan
authorizedMazdaDealerhowtosafelydisposeofthe
pretensionersystemorhowtoscrapafront
pretensioner-equippedvehicle.

Safety belt extension assembly
Ifthesafetybeltassemblyistooshortforyou,evenwhenfully
extended,20cm(8inches)canbeaddedtothesafetybeltassemblyby
addingasafetybeltextensionassembly.Safetybeltextensionassemblies
canbeobtainedfromyourauthorizedMazdadealership.
