Labelvehicleweightratinglimitscouldresultinsubstandard
vehiclehandlingorperformance,engine,transmissionand/orstructural
damage,seriousdamagetothevehicle,lossofcontrolandpersonal
injury.
GCW(GrossCombinedWeight)–istheweightoftheloadedvehicle
(GVW)plustheweightofthefullyloadedtrailer.
GCWR(GrossCombinedWeightRating)–isthemaximumallowable
weightofthevehicleandtheloadedtrailer–includingallcargoand
passengers–thatthevehiclecanhandlewithoutriskingdamage.
(Important:Thetowingvehicles’brakingsystemisratedforoperationat
GVWR,notatGCWR.Separatefunctionalbrakesshouldbeusedforsafe
controloftowedvehiclesandfortrailerswheretheGCWofthetowing
vehicleplusthetrailerexceedtheGVWRofthetowingvehicle.The
GCWmustneverexceedtheGCWR.
