TheslidingleverontheTBCshouldbeusedonlyformanual
activationoftrailerbrakestoassistwithproperadjustmentofthe
GAIN.Misuse,suchasapplicationduringtrailersway,couldcause
instabilityoftrailerand/ortowvehicle.
Avoidtowinginadverseweatherconditions.TheTBCdoesnot
provideanti-lockcontrolofthetrailerwheels.Trailerwheelscan
lock-uponslipperysurfaces,resultinginreducedstabilityoftrailer
andtowvehicle.
TheTBCinteractswiththebrakesystemofthevehicle,including
ABS,inordertoreducethelikelihoodoftrailerwheellockup.
Therefore,ifthesesystemsarenotfunctioningproperlytheTBCmay
notfunctionatfullperformance.

Whenthevehicleisturnedoff,theTBCOutputisdisabledandthe
displayisshutdown.Reactivationoftheignitionfrom3(OFF)to4
(ON)willawakentheTBCmodule.
TheTBCisonlyafactoryordealerinstalleditem.Fordisnot
responsibleforwarrantyorperformanceoftheTBCduetomisuseor
customerinstallation.
Trailer lamps
Trailerlampsarerequiredonmosttowedvehicles.Makesureallrunning
lights,brakelights,turnsignalsandhazardlightsareworking.Seeyour
authorizeddealerortrailerrentalagencyforproperinstructionsand
equipmentforhookinguptrailerlamps.
Using a step bumper (if equipped)
Therearbumperisequippedwithanintegralhitchandonlyrequiresa
ballwithaoneinch(25.4mm)shankdiameter.Thebumperhasa5,000
lb.(2,270kg)trailerweightand500lb.(227kg)tongueweightcapacity.
Ifitisnecessarytorelocatethetrailerhitchballposition,a
frame-mountedtrailerhitchmustbeinstalled.
