THINGSTOKNOWBEFORESTARTINGYOURVEHICLE
Key-In-IgnitionReminder
Analarmwillsoundtoremindyouifthekeyisleftinthe
ignitionandthedriver’sdoorisopened.
IfYouWishToManuallyLockTheSteering
Wheel:
Withtheenginerunning,turnthesteeringwheelupside
down,turnofftheengineandremovethekey.Turnthe
steering wheel slightly in either direction until the lock
engages.
LockingDoorsWithTheKey
You can insert the key with either side up. To lock the
door,turnthekeyrearward,tounlockthedoor,turnthe
keyforward.SeeSection7ofthismanualfordoorlock
lubrication.
ToReleaseTheSteeringWheelLock:
Insertthekeyintheignitionswitchandstarttheengine.
Ifthekeyisdifficulttoturn,movethewheelslightlyto
therightorlefttodisengagethelock.
STEERINGWHEELLOCK—IFEQUIPPED
Your vehicle may be equipped with a passive steering
wheellock.Thislockpreventssteeringthevehiclewith-
out the ignition key. If the steering wheel is moved no
morethan1/2turnineitherdirectionandthekeyisnot
intheignitionswitch,thesteeringwheelwilllock.
NOTE: If you turned the wheel to the right to engage
thelock,youmustturnthewheelslightlytotherightto
disengageit.Ifyouturnedthewheeltothelefttoengage
thelock,turnthewheelslightlytothelefttodisengageit.
