Don’tuseinhillyterrainorwithheavyloads.
Whenusingthespeedcontrol,ifyouexperiencespeed
dropsgreaterthan10mph(16km/h),disengageuntil
youcangetbacktocruisingspeed.
NOTE: Usingthe“3”rangewhileoperatingthevehicle
under heavy operating conditions will improve perfor-
mance and extend transmission life by reducing exces-
sive shifting and heat build up. This action will also
providebetterenginebraking.
− Usespeedcontrolinflatterrainandwithlightloadsto
maximizefuelefficiency.
The automatic transmission fluid and filter should be
changedifyouREGULARLYtowatrailerformorethan
TowingTips—CoolingSystem
To reduce potential for engine and transmission over-
heating,takethefollowingactions:

minutesofcontinuousoperation.SeeSchedule“B”in
section 8 of this manual for transmission fluid change
intervals.

Whenstoppedforshortperiodsoftime,puttransmission
inneutralbutdonotincreaseengineidlespeed.
