• ThesystemTractionOFF ControlSwitchhasbeenusedtoturnthe
Thissystemmonitorstheamountofwheelspinofeachof
the driven wheels. If wheel spin is detected, brake
pressure is applied to the slipping wheel(s) and engine
powerisreducedtoprovideenhancedaccelerationand
stability.AfeatureoftheTCSsystemfunctionssimilarto
a limited slip differential and controls the wheel spin
across a driven axle. If one wheel on a driven axle is
spinningfasterthantheother,thesystemwillapplythe
brakeofthespinningwheel.Thiswillallowmoreengine
torquetobeappliedtothewheelthatisnotspinning.
The Traction Control System reduces wheel slip and
maintains traction at the driving (front) wheels. The
systemreduceswheelslipbyengagingthebrakeonthe
wheel that is losing traction (spinning). The system
operatesatspeedsbelow35mph(56km/h).
