Thiswarninghasthefollowingfunctions:
WARNING
Parkingbrakewarning
Thelightcomesonwhentheparking
brakeisappliedwiththeignitionswitch
intheSTARTorONposition.Itgoesoff
whentheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased.
Donotdrivewiththebrakesystem
warninglightilluminated,andcontact
anAuthorizedMazdaDealertohave
thebrakesinspectedassoonas
possible:
Drivingwiththebrakesystemwarning
lightilluminatedisdangerous.It
indicatesthatyourbrakesmaynot
workatallorthattheycould
completelyfailatanytime.Ifthislight
remainsilluminated,afterchecking
thattheparkingbrakeisfully
released,havethebrakesinspected
immediately.
Lowbrakefluidlevelwarning
Ifthelightstaysonaftertheparkingbrake
isfullyreleased,youmayhaveabrake
problem.
Drivetothesideoftheroadandparkoff
theright-of-way.
Youmaynoticethatthepedalisharderto
pushorthatitmaygoclosertothefloor.
Ineithercase,itwilltakelongertostop
thevehicle.
qParkingBrakeReminder
Iftheparkingbrakehasnotbeen
completelyreleasedandthevehicleis
drivenatabout5km/h(3mph)orfaster,a
continuousbeepsoundwillbeheardto
notifythedriverthattheparkingbrake
hasnotbeenreleased.

Withtheenginestopped,checkthe
brakefluidlevelimmediatelyandadd
fluidasrequired(page8-16).
2.
Afteraddingfluid,checkthelight
again.
Ifthewarninglightremainson,orifthe
brakesdonotoperateproperly,donot
drivethevehicle.Haveittowedtoan
AuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Evenifthelightgoesouthaveyourbrake
systeminspectedassoonaspossibleby
anAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
