curtainairbagsinflatewithgreatforceandspeeddirectlyexpandalongthedooron
thesidethecarishit.Seriousinjurycouldoccurifsomeoneissittingtooclosetothe
doororleaningagainstawindow,orifrearseatoccupantsgrabthesidesofthefront
seatbacks.Givethesideandcurtainairbagsroomtoworkbysittinginthecenterof
theseatwhilethevehicleismovingwithseatbeltswornproperly.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawheredriverandfrontpassengerairbags
deploy:
Attachinganobjecttothedriverandfrontpassengerairbagmodulesorplacing
somethinginfrontofthemisdangerous.Inanaccident,anobjectcouldinterferewith
airbaginflationandinjuretheoccupants.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawhereasideairbagdeploys:
Attachingthingstothefrontseatinsuchawayastocovertheoutboardsideofthe
seatinanywayisdangerous.Inanaccidenttheobjectcouldinterferewiththesideair
bag,whichinflatesfromtheoutboardsideofthefrontseats,impedingtheadded
protectionofthesideairbagsystemorredirectingtheairbaginawaythatis
dangerous.Furthermore,thebagcouldbecutopenspewingexhaust.
Donothangnetbags,mappouchesorbackpackswithsidestrapsonthefrontseats.
Neveruseseatcoversonthefrontseats.Alwayskeepthesideairbagmodulesinyour
frontseatsfreetodeployintheeventofasidecollision.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawhereacurtainairbagdeploys:
Attachingobjectstotheareaswherethecurtainairbagactivatessuchasonthe
windshieldglass,sidedoorglass,frontandrearwindowpillarsandalongtheroof
edgeandassistgripsisdangerous.Inanaccidenttheobjectcouldinterferewiththe
curtainairbag,whichinflatesfromthefrontandrearwindowpillarsandalongthe
roofedge,impedingtheaddedprotectionofthecurtainairbagsystemorredirecting
theairbaginawaythatisdangerous.Furthermore,thebagcouldbecutopen
spewingexhaust.
Donotplacehangersoranyotherobjectsontheassistgrips.Whenhangingclothes,
hangthemonthecoathookdirectly.Alwayskeepthecurtainairbagmodulesfreeto
deployintheeventofasidecollisionorroll-overaccident.
