performtheprocedure,especially
whenliftingupthehardtop.Do
notdoitalonesoasnottocause
injuryorvehicledamage.
Manuallyretractingthehardtopwith
theignitionswitchnotintheLOCK
positionisdangerousastheretractor
motorscouldturnonsuddenlyand
causeinjuryresultingfromhandsor
fingersbeingpinchedinthe
mechanism.
ØSomestepsintheprocedure
requireusingmultipletoolsatthe
sametimeandacertainlevelof
technicalexpertise.Inaddition,
holdingyourbodyextendedover
thecarcanresultinmusclestrains
soMazdarecommendshavingthe
hardtopcheckedatanAuthorized

Parkonalevelsurfaceofftheright-of-
wayandfirmlysettheparkingbrake.

Putavehiclewithanautomatic
transmissioninPark(P),amanual
transmissioninReverse(R)or1,and
turnofftheengine.
Openingthedeck
1. Removetheantennaifitisinstalled.
RefertoDetachableTypeonpage6-9.

positionwhiledepressingthebrake
pedal.
CAUTION
