Yourvehicleisalsoequippedwiththepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlight.The
deactivationindicatorlightilluminateswhenthekeyisusedtoturnthepassengerairbag
offortheautomaticfunctionoperatesbasedonthepassengerseatweightsensors.These
sensorsarelocatedunderbothofthepassengerseatrails.Thesesensorsdeterminethetotal
seatedweightonthepassengerseat.TheSASunitisdesignedtopreventthepassenger
frontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemfromdeployingifthetotalseated
weightislessthanapproximately30kg(66lb).
Toreducethechanceofinjuriescausedbydeploymentofthepassengerairbag,thesystem
deactivatesthepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandalsotheseatbeltpretensionersystem
when:
Thereisnopassengerinthepassengerseat.(Thepassengerairbagdeactivation

indicatorlightdoesnotilluminate.)
Thetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatislessthanapproximately30kg(66lb).

Thissystemshutsoffthepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensioner
system,somakesurethepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightilluminates
accordingtothefollowingtable.
Theairbag/seatbeltpretensionersystemwarninglightflashesandthepassengerairbag
deactivationindicatorlightilluminatesifthesensorshaveapossiblemalfunction.Ifthis
happens,thepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemwillnot
deploy.

Thisindicatorlightilluminatestoremindyouthatthepassengerfrontandsideairbagsand
seatbeltpretensionerwillnotdeployduringacollision.
