Ifthepassengerairbaghasbeendeactivatedusingthekey,thepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightwill

Ifthepassengerseatbeltisbuckled,thepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightilluminates,howeverthis
doesnotindicateamalfunction.
Ifthepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightdoesnotilluminatewhentheignition
switchisturnedtotheONpositionanddoesnotilluminateasindicatedintheabovechart,
donotallowachildtositinthepassengerseatandconsultanAuthorizedMazdaDealeras
soonaspossible.Thesystemmaynotworkproperlyinanaccident.Youmustdeactivate
thepassengerairbagusingthekey(page2-32)andconsultanAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
WARNING
Donotdecreasethetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassengerseat:
Whenanadultorlargechildsitsonthepassengerseat,decreasingthetotalseated
weightonthepassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightofapproximately42kg
(93
lb)requiredforairbagdeploymentisdangerous.Thepassengerseatweight
sensorswilldetectthereducedtotalseatedweightconditionandthepassengerfront
andsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemwillnotdeployduringan
accident.Thepassengerwillnothavethesupplementaryprotectionoftheairbag,
whichcouldresultinseriousinjury.Decreasingthetotalseatedweightonthe
passengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightofapproximately42kg(93lb)could
resultinanairbagnotdeployingunderthefollowingconditions,forexample:
ØLuggageorotheritemsplacedunderthepassengerseatorbetweenthepassenger
seatandcenterconsolethatpushupthepassengerseatbottom.
ØThepassengerseatoccupantsitsinamannersuchthattheoccupant'sentire
weightisnotplacedontheseatsittingtooclosetothedoor.
ØAnyaccessorieswhichmightdecreasethetotalseatedweightonthepassenger
seatareattachedtothepassengerseat.
Thepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemswill
deactivateifthetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatiscloseto30kg(66lb)
andtheywillreactivatebeforetheweightexceeds42kg(93lb).
