limiterloadedreducesthesafety
availabletoyou.Liketheairbags,
theseatbeltpretensionerswillonly
functiononce.Aftertheyare
dangerous.Unlessallsafety
proceduresarefollowed,injurycould
result.AskanAuthorizedMazda
Dealerhowtosafelydisposeofthe
pretensionersystemorhowtoscrap
apretensioner-equippedvehicle.
NOTE
Thepretensionersystemwillactivateina
l
expended,theywillnotfunction
againandmustbereplaced
moderateorgreaterfrontalornear-frontal
collision.Thepretensionersystemforthe
passengerisdesignedtoonlydeployin
accordancewiththetotalseatedweighton
thepassengerseat.Itwillnotactivatein
mostrollovers,sideorrearimpacts.

pretensionersarenotreplaced,the
riskofinjuryinacollisionwill
increase.AlwayshaveanAuthorized
MazdaDealerinspecttheseatbelt
pretensionersandairbagsafterany

releasedwhentheairbagsand

pretensionersdeploy.Thisdoesnotindicate
afire.Thisgasnormallyhasnoeffecton
occupants,however,thosewithsensitive
skinmayexperiencelightskinirritation.If
residuefromthedeploymentoftheairbags
orthepretensionersystemgetsontheskin
orintheeyes,washitoffassoonas
possible.
Donotmodifythecomponentsor
wiring,oruseelectronictestingdevices
onthepretensionersystem:
Modifyingthecomponentsorwiring
ofthepretensionersystem,including
theuseofelectronictestingdevicesis
dangerous.Youcouldaccidentally
activateitormakeitinoperable
whichwouldpreventitfrom
activatinginanaccident.The
occupantsorrepairerscouldbe
seriouslyinjured.
