Beforeleavingthedriver'sseat,always
putthekeyorstartknobtoLOCK
position,settheparkingbrakeand
makesuretheshiftleverisinPwithan
automatictransmissionorin1orR
withamanualtransmission:
Intentionallyplacingthekeyorstart
knobintoLOCKpositionismuch
moreimportantwhereyouwillnot
beremovingthekeytoleavethe
vehicleandbecauseleavingitin
otherpositionswilldisablesomeof
thevehiclesecuritysystemsandrun
thebatterydown.
Leavingthedriver'sseatwithout
puttingtheignitionswitchinLOCK
position,settingtheparkingbrake
andtheshiftleverisinPwithan
automatictransmissionorin1orR
withamanualtransmissionis
dangerous.Unexpectedvehicle
movementcouldoccur.Thiscould
causeanaccident.
NOTE
Ifturningthekeyisdifficult,jigglethesteering
wheelfromsidetoside.
Leavingthekeyorstartknobinanyposition
butLOCKpositionalsodisablessomeofthe
securityfeaturesandmayrunthebattery
down.
