theadditionalweightofthechildis
addedtothechildrestraint.Italso
helpstoachievetheproper
snugnessofthechildseattothe
vehicle.Sometimes,aslightlean
towardsthebucklewilladditionally
helptoremoveremainingslackfromthebelt.

SafetyTechnician(CPST)tomakecertainthechildrestraintisproperly
installed.InCanada,checkwithyourlocalSt.JohnAmbulanceofficefor
referraltoaCPST.
Installingchildsafetyseatsincinchtonguecombinationlapand
shoulderbeltseatingpositions(rearcenterpositiononly)
Thebeltwebbingbelowthetongueisthelapportionofthecombination
lap/shoulderbelt,andthebeltwebbingabovethetongueistheshoulder
beltportionofthecombinationlap/shoulderbelt.
Note:Althoughthechildseatillustratedisaforwardfacingchildseat,
thestepsarethesameforinstallingarearfacingchildseat.
