ItisrecommendedyouusetheappropriateMotorcraftoilfilteror
anotherwithequivalentperformanceforyourengineapplication.
BATTERY
Yourvehicleisequippedwitha
Motorcraftmaintenance-free
batterywhichnormallydoesnot
requireadditionalwaterduringits
lifeofservice.
Ifyourbatteryhasacover/shield,makesureitisreinstalled
afterthebatteryhasbeencleanedorreplaced.
Forlonger,trouble-freeoperation,keepthetopofthebatterycleanand
dry.Also,makecertainthebatterycablesarealwaystightlyfastenedto
thebatteryterminals.
Ifyouseeanycorrosiononthebatteryorterminals,removethecables
fromtheterminalsandcleanwithawirebrush.Youcanneutralizethe
acidwithasolutionofbakingsodaandwater.
Itisrecommendedthatthenegativebatterycableterminalbe
disconnectedfromthebatteryifyouplantostoreyourvehicleforan
extendedperiodoftime.Thiswillminimizethedischargeofyourbattery
duringstorage.
Note:Electricalorelectronicaccessoriesorcomponentsaddedtothe
vehiclebythedealerortheownermayadverselyaffectbattery
performanceanddurability.
WARNING:Batteriesnormallyproduceexplosivegaseswhich
cancausepersonalinjury.Therefore,donotallowflames,sparks
orlightedsubstancestocomenearthebattery.Whenworkingnearthe
battery,alwaysshieldyourfaceandprotectyoureyes.Alwaysprovide
properventilation.
