WARNING:Vehiclemodificationsinvolvingbrakingsystem,
aftermarketroofracks,suspension,steeringsystem,tire
constructionand/orwheel/tiresizemaychangethehandling
characteristicsofthevehicleandmayadverselyaffecttheperformance
oftheAdvanceTracsystem.Inaddition,installinganystereo
loudspeakersmayinterferewithandadverselyaffecttheAdvanceTrac
system.Installanyaftermarketstereoloudspeakerasfaraspossible
fromthefrontcenterconsole,thetunnel,andthefrontseatsinorder
tominimizetheriskofinterferingwiththeAdvanceTracsensors.
ReducingtheeffectivenessoftheAdvanceTracsystemcouldleadto
anincreasedriskoflossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personal
injuryanddeath.
WARNING:Rememberthatevenadvancedtechnologycannot
defythelawsofphysics.It’salwayspossibletolosecontrolofa
vehicleduetoinappropriatedriverinputfortheconditions.Aggressive
drivingonanyroadconditioncancauseyoutolosecontrolofyour
vehicleincreasingtheriskofpersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
ActivationoftheAdvanceTracsystemisanindicationthatatleast
someofthetireshaveexceededtheirabilitytogriptheroad;this
couldreducetheoperator’sabilitytocontrolthevehiclepotentially
resultinginalossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personalinjury
anddeath.IfyourAdvanceTracsystemactivates,SLOWDOWN.
WARNING:Ifafailurehasbeendetectedwithinthe
AdvanceTracsystem,the“slidingcar”icon
willilluminate
steadily.VerifythattheAdvanceTracsystemisnotmanuallydisabled
(presstheAdvanceTracbuttonlocatedonthecenterofthe
instrumentpanel).Ifthe“slidingcar”icon
stillilluminatessteadily,
havethesystemservicedbyanauthorizeddealerimmediately.
TheAdvanceTracsystemautomaticallyenableseachtimetheengineis
started.AllfeaturesoftheAdvanceTracsystem(TCSandESC)are
activeandmonitorthevehiclefromstart-up.However,thesystemwill
onlyinterveneifthedrivingsituationrequiresit.
