FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED)

is movin g, the syst em will not engage and no da ma ge will occu r to
the 4WD syst em.
Allutility-typevehiclesand4WDvehicleshavespecialdesignand
equipmentfeaturestomakethemcapableofperforminginawide
varietyofoff-roadapplications.Specificdesigncharacteristicsgivethem
highercentersofgravitythanordinarypassengercars.
Utilityandfour-wheeldrivevehiclesare not designedfor
corneringatspeedsashighaspassengercarsanymorethan
low-slungsportscarsaredesignedtoperformsatisfactorilyunder
off-roadconditions.Avoidsharpturnsorabruptmaneuversinthese
vehicles.
4WDHighand4WDLowoperationisnotrecommendedondry
pavement.Doingsocouldresultindifficultdisengagementofthe
transfercase,increasedtirewearanddecreasedfueleconomy.
Control-Trac automatic four-wheel drive system (if equipped)
The4WDsystemusesallfourwheelstopowerthevehicle.This
increasestraction,enablingyoutodriveyour4x4overterrainandroad
conditionsnotnormallytraveledbytwo-wheeldrivevehicles.
Powerissuppliedtoallfourwheelsthroughatransfercasethatallows
youtoselectafour-wheeldrivemodebestsuitedforyourcurrent
drivingconditions.
