NOTE: The compressor will not engage until the engine
has been running for several second s. Slight changes in
engine speed or power may be noticed when the com-
pressor is on. This is a norm al occurrence since the
compressor will cycle on and off to maintain comfort and
improve fuel econom y.
you can not achieve comfort or visibility in Auto opera-
tion. A sym bol in the display wind ow will show which
mode is operating.
Panel
Air is directed throu gh the outlets in the instru -
ment panel. These outlets can be adjusted to direct
air flow. This mode is not recom mend ed when heat is 4
requ ired .
RecirculateButton
Press this button to recircu late the air insid e the
vehicle. Outsid e air is prevented from entering the
vehicle. Recircu lation is autom atically controlled when
the system is in Auto Mod e. Use this mode to tem porarily
block out any outsid e odors, smoke, or dust.
Floor
Air is directed throu gh the floor outlets with a
lesser amount throu gh the Defrost and side
wind ow demist outlets. This mode is recom mend ed
when heat is desired .
Manu al control of Recircu lation is possible only in Panel,
Floor, and Bi-Level modes. It will not operate in Mix, or
Defrost modes.
Mix
Air is directed throu gh the floor, defrost, and
side wind ow demist outlets. Use this setting in
cold or snow y cond itions that requ ire extra heat
at the wind shield . This setting is good for maintaining
comfort while red ucing moistu re on the wind shield .
The compressor is on in this mode.
NOTE: The Recirc button light will blink if you try to
use it in the Mix or Defrost modes.
AirDirectionButtons(Mode)
These buttons allow you to select from five air distribu -
tion patterns. These buttons shou ld be used only when
