AddingCoolant
Please note that it is the owner’s resp onsibility to main-
tain the prop er level of protection against freezing ac-
cord ing to the tem peratu res occurring in the area where
the vehicle is operated .
Your vehicle has been built with an improved engine
coolant that allow s extend ed maintenance intervals. This
coolant can be used up to 5 Years or 100,000 miles before
rep lacem ent. To prevent red ucing this extend ed mainte-
nance period , it is important that you use the sam e
coolant throu ghou t the life of you r vehicle. Please review
these recom mend ations for using Hybrid Organic Addi-
tive Technology (HOAT) coolant.
NOTE: Mixing coolant typ es will decrease the life of the
engine coolant and will requ ire more frequ ent coolant
changes.
CoolingSystemPressureCap
The cap must be fully tightened to prevent loss of
coolant, and to insu re that coolant will retu rn to the
rad iator from the coolant recovery bottle.
When adding coolant, a minim um solu tion of 50% rec-
ommend ed Mop ar Antifreeze/ Coolant 5 Year/ 100,000
Mile Form ula HOAT (Hybrid Organic Additive Technol-
ogy), or equ ivalent, in water shou ld be used . Use higher
concentrations (not to exceed 70%) if tem peratu res below
Ϫ34°F (Ϫ37°C ) are anticip ated .

The cap shou ld be insp ected and cleaned if there is any
accumulation of foreign material on the sealing surfaces.
Use only high purity water such as distilled or deionized
water when mixing the water/ engine coolant solu tion.
The use of lower quality water will red uce the amount of
corrosion protection in the engine cooling system .
