If you r vehicle is equ ipped with Traction Control, turn
the system off before attem pting to “rock” the vehicle.
Flat bed tow ing is the preferred tow ing method . If a flat
bed tow ing vehicle is not available, a wheel lift tow ing
vehicle may be used .
If you r vehicle becom es stu ck in mud, sand or snow, it
can often be moved by a rocking motion. Turn you r
steering wheel right and left to clear the area arou nd the
front wheels. Then shift back and forth betw een Reverse
and First gear. Usu ally the least accelerator pedal pres-
sure to maintain the rocking motion withou t spinning the
wheels is most effective.
Rear tow ing is not recom mend ed with the front wheels
on the grou nd , as transaxle damage can resu lt. If rear
tow ing is the only alternative, a front end dolly must be
used .
