Many accessories that can be plugged in draw
power from the vehicle’s battery, even when not
in use (i.e., cellular phones, etc.). Eventually, if
pluggedinlongenough,thevehicle’sbatterywill
discharge sufficiently to degrade battery life
and/orpreventenginestarting.
Accessoriesthatdrawhigherpower(i.e.,coolers,
vacuum cleaners, lights, etc.) will degrade the
battery even more quickly. Only use these inter-
mittentlyandwithgreatercaution.
After the use of high power draw accessories, or
longperiodsofthevehiclenotbeingstarted(with
accessories still plugged in), the vehicle must be
driven a sufficient length of time to allow the
alternatortorechargethevehicle’sbattery.
Power outlets are designed for accessory plugs
only.Donothanganytypeofaccessoryoracces-
sory bracket from the plug. Improper use of the
poweroutletcancausedamage.
ELECTRICALPOWEROUTLET
The power outlet is located in the lower center of you r
instru ment panel. If you r vehicle is equ ipped with heated
seats, a second power outlet is located insid e the center
console. All accessories connected to any outlet shou ld be
rem oved or turned off when the vehicle is not in use.
