THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM — IF EQUIPPED
TheVehicleSecurityAlarmmonitorsthedoorsandtrunk
forunauthorizedentryandignitionswitchforunautho-
rizedoperation.
To Arm The System
Removethekeysfromtheignitionswitchandgetout
ofthevehicle.
Lockthedoorusingeitherthepowerdoorlockswitch
(one door must be open) or the LOCK button on the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter (doors can be
openorclosed),andclosealldoors.

If something triggers the alarm, the Vehicle Security
Alarmwillsignalforabout18minutes.Forthefirstthree
minutes, the horn will sound intermittently and the
headlights,parklampsand/orturnsignalswillflashand
theVehicleSecurityLightintheclusterwillflash.Then NOTE: TheVehicleSecurityAlarmwillnotarmifyou
theexteriorlightswillflashforanother15minutes.

Rearming The System
3. The Vehicle Security Light in the instrument cluster
Ifsomethingtriggersthealarm,andnoactionistakento will flash for 16 seconds. This shows that the Vehicle
disarm it, the Vehicle Security Alarm will turn off the SecurityAlarmisarming.Duringthisperiod,ifadooris
hornafterthreeminutes,turnoffallofthevisualsignals opened,theignitionswitchisturnedON,orthepower
after15minutes,andthentheVehicleSecurityAlarmwill door locks are unlocked in any manner, the Vehicle
rearmitself.
SecurityAlarmwillautomaticallydisarm.
