The “ESC Malfunction Indicator Light” in the
WARNING!

TheElectronicStabilityControl(ESC)cannotpre-
ventthenaturallawsofphysicsfromactingonthe
vehicle,norcanitincreasethetractionaffordedby
prevailingroadconditions.
ESC cannot prevent accidents, including those
resultingfromexcessivespeedinturns,drivingon
very slippery surfaces, or hydroplaning. Only a
safe, attentive, and skillful driver can prevent
accidents.
ThecapabilitiesofanESC-equippedvehiclemust
never be exploited in a reckless or dangerous
manner, which could jeopardize the user’s safety
orthesafetyofothers.

ignitionswitchisturnedtotheONposition.It

“ESC Malfunction Indicator Light” comes on continu-
ously with the engine running, a malfunction has been
detectedintheESCsystem.Ifthislightremainsonafter

severalmiles(kilometers)atspeedsgreaterthan30mph

The“ESCOffIndicatorLight”andthe“ESCMalfunc-
tionIndicatorLight”comeonmomentarilyeachtime
theignitionswitchisturnedON.

EachtimetheignitionisturnedON,theESCsystem
willbeONevenifitwasturnedoffpreviously.
