appropriateforthesteeringwheelposition.

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) cannot pre-
vent the natural laws of physics from acting on the
vehicle, nor can it increase the traction afforded by
prevailingroadconditions.ESPcannotpreventacci-
dents,includingthoseresultingfromexcessivespeed
inturns,drivingonveryslipperysurfaces,orhydro-
planing.Onlyasafe,attentive,andskillfuldrivercan
prevent accidents. The capabilities of an ESP-
equippedvehiclemustneverbeexploitedinareck-
lessordangerousmannerwhichcouldjeopardizethe
user’ssafetyorthesafetyofothers.
The“ESP/TCSIndicatorLight”locatedintheinstrument
clusterwillstarttoflashassoonasthetireslosetraction
and the ESP system becomes active. The “ESP/TCS
IndicatorLight”alsoflasheswhentheTCSisactive.Ifthe
“ESP/TCSIndicatorLight”beginstoflashduringaccel-
eration, ease up on the accelerator and apply as little
throttle as possible. Be sure to adapt your speed and
drivingtotheprevailingroadconditions.
The ESPsystem has three available operating modes in
4WD HIGH range, two available operating modes on
two-wheel drive vehicles, and one operating mode in
4WDLOWrange.
