CAUTION!
You or others could be injured if you leave the
vehicle unattended with the transfer case in the
NEUTRALpositionwithoutfirstfullyengagingthe
parkingbrake.ThetransfercaseNEUTRALposition
disengagesboththefrontandreardriveshaftsfrom
the powertrain and will allow the vehicle to move
even if the transmission is in PARK. The parking
brake should always be applied when the driver is
notinthevehicle.
Itisnecessarytofollowthesestepstobecertainthat
the transfer case is fully in NEUTRALbefore recre-
ationaltowingtopreventdamagetointernalparts.
1. Pressthebrakepedal.
2.
TurntheignitionswitchtotheONposition,engineoff.
3. ShiftthetransmissionintoNEUTRAL.
ShiftthetransfercaseintoNEUTRAL.
HolddowntheNEUTRAL“pin”switch(withapen,etc.)
4.
ShiftingIntoNEUTRAL
Usethefollowingproceduretoprepareyourvehiclefor forfoursecondsuntiltheLEDlampbytheswitchstarts
recreationaltowing.
toblink,indicatingshiftinprogress.Thelampwillstop
blinking (stay on solid) when the NEUTRAL shift is
complete.A“4WDSYSTEMINNEUTRAL”messagewill
display on the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information
