STARTING AND OPERATING
HolddowntheNEUTRAL“pin”switch(withapen,etc.)
forfoursecondsuntiltheLEDlampbytheswitchstarts
toblink,indicatingshiftinprogress.Thelampwillstop
blinking (go out) when shift is complete. The “4WD
SYSTEM IN NEUTRAL” message will no longer be
displayed on the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information
Center).Referto“ElectronicVehicleInformationCenter
(EVIC)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for
furtherinformation.
CAUTION!
Transmissiondamagemayoccurifthetransmission
isshiftedintoPARKwiththetransfercaseinNEU-
TRALandtheenginerunning.Withthetransfercase
inNEUTRALensurethattheengineisOFFpriorto
shiftingthetransmissionintoPARK(refertosteps7
and8above).
ShiftingOutOfNEUTRAL
Usethefollowingproceduretoprepareyourvehiclefor
normalusage.
