of outdoor temperatures, as tire pressures vary with
temperaturechanges.
CAUTION!
After inspecting or adjusting the tire pressure, al-
waysreinstallthevalvestemcap.Thiswillprevent
moisture and dirt from entering the valve stem,
whichcoulddamageit.
Tirepressureschangebyapproximately1psi(7kPa)per
12°F
(7°C)ofairtemperaturechange.Keepthisinmind
whencheckingtirepressureinsideagarage,especiallyin
thewinter.
Inflation pressures specified on the placard are always
coldtireinflationpressure.Coldtireinflationpressureis Example: If garage temperature = 68°F (20°C) and the
definedasthetirepressureafterthevehiclehasnotbeen outside temperature = 32°F (0°C) then the cold tire
drivenforatleastthreehours,ordrivenlessthan1mile inflationpressureshouldbeincreasedby3psi(21kPa),

km)afterathree-hourperiod.Thecoldtireinflation which equals 1 psi (7 kPa) for every 12°F (7°C) for this
